Alums hear from campus leaders
In a virtual forum this month, alums learned which courses and degrees are now offered specifically through Mills College at Northeastern, and what progress the Mills Institute has made in expanding academic bridge programs and launching women’s leadership programs. They also heard updates on campus life, the opportunities available to students through Northeastern’s partnerships with Bay Area businesses, and how the university is engaging with the Oakland community.

Save the dates for Reunion
Mark your calendar for September 18–21 when we celebrate class years ending in 0 or 5, along with the Art Museum’s 100th anniversary. All alums are invited to this annual gathering to participate in faculty and alum presentations, leadership updates, receptions, and more.

Win this grant (make us proud!)
Apply for a Northeastern Women Who Empower award, which honors entrepreneurs for their work, whether it’s based on a new idea or expanding an existing operation. Last year, recipients received a total of $500k in funding, and previous winners include Mills alum Taja Lester, MBA ’11, who launched a venture fund that invests in driving equitable health outcomes for the underserved.

Pursue your education degree
Place yourself back in the classroom—and back at Mills—for a master’s in single or multiple subject education, educational leadership, or early childhood education. Offered by Mills College at Northeastern, these restored programs all meet California credential requirements. Application deadlines are approaching, so don’t delay!
Northeastern’s annual Giving Day returns on April 10—and, like last year, Mills alums are encouraged to gear up for the challenge. Help amplify our alum community by supporting Oakland-centered programs like the Mills Institute and the Community Farm. Make a gift in honor of the Art Museum’s centennial year or donate to the Dean’s Fund for Mills’ Greatest Need. Be on the lookout for Giving Day promotions, challenges, and swag—coming soon.
