Benefits for all Mills alums.
Take advantage of the Oakland-based services offered to Mills College alums! To access some campus resources—including the library, pool, fitness center, and free or discounted concerts—you’ll need a membership card available free of charge from the Alumnae Association of Mills College.
Mills alums are also now eligible to receive benefits and discounts afforded to Northeastern alumni, whether they’re available online or in Boston. Read more info about those benefits, including scholarship eligibility, in this article from the Mills Quarterly or by visiting alumni.northeastern.edu.
Career Resources
Networking
You can network with peers in the Mills College Alumnae LinkedIn group. Northeastern’s NUSource also provides opportunities to connect with both Mills and Northeastern alumni who share your professional interests and experiences.
Look for email invitations from the Office of Alumnae Relations to regional, industry-specific alum mixers for both Mills and Northeastern alums.
Career Services
Access personal coaching, live and recorded webinars, and articles at no cost on Northeastern’s Alumni Relations Career Help page. Mills College alums still have access to job postings on Handshake, and those who graduated within the last seven years can use the services available through Northeastern’s Career Studio. Visit the Oakland campus’s career design resources page for an overview of Mills alum services.
Employment on the Oakland campus
Northeastern University lists all of its job openings online, including those in Oakland. Take a look and see if there are any employment possibilities for you at your alma mater’s campus and throughout the global network.
Transcripts
Parchment is the hub for requesting official transcripts for graduates of Mills College and those who attended but did not graduate. Northeastern University became the custodian of academic records issued by Mills College effective July 1, 2022.
For more information, refer to this Northeastern KnowledgeBase article.
Library Privileges
All alums have access to the F.W. Olin Library and are eligible to use many of its services with a free membership card from the AAMC, which will allow you to set up an account. You may borrow books, periodicals, videos, DVDs, and CDs from the physical library; its web-based catalog is accessible throughout the library and online.
For more details about using the library, visit the Alumnae Library Services page.
Pool & Gym
Your AAMC membership card gives you access to the Haas Pavilion fitness center and gymnasium, the Trefethen Aquatic Center, and the Meyer Tennis Courts. For details about using these facilities, visit the Campus Sports and Recreation page.
Alumnae Email
Personal email accounts with the domain address alumnae.mills.edu have been issued to all Mills College alumnae, up through the Class of 2024. These accounts are hosted by Google Apps for Education and provide all of the features associated with Gmail. The format of your Mills alum email account is based on your first initial and last name, similar to your student Mills email address (if you had one). For example, if your name is Susan Mills, your alum email address will be smills@alumnae.mills.edu. The format is permanent and is not customizable.
To claim your email address for the first time, please contact mills.alumnaerelations@northeastern.edu. For technical questions, please contact help@northeastern.edu.
If you’ve forgotten your password or it has expired, follow the step-by-step instructions found on Northeastern’s ITS site: Mills College alumnae email accounts FAQs.
Visiting Campus
Even though Mills College is now part of Northeastern University, Mills alums are always welcome on campus! If it’s been a while since you’ve paid a visit, review the online directions to campus.
All visitors—including alums with a yellow Alumnae Association of Mills College (AAMC) card—should be prepared to show a government-issued ID at the front gate. If you arrive by car, it’s recommended that you request a guest parking pass, which will permit you to park in any available parking spot that is not restricted for residents, faculty, or staff.
